OUT with the old, in with the new.
San Mig Coffee superstar James Yap held a successful garage sale at the Fabulous Autoshop along Granada Street in Quezon City over the weekend, raising close to P150,000 for charity.
By his own estimate, the two-time league MVP put on sale about P3 million worth of personal items during the one-day sale ranging from clothes, shoes, and memorabilia.
“Yung ibang polo dyan, hindi ko pa nasusuot, 12,000 pesos ata ang isa. Yung iba naman nasuot ko na pero once lang, marami na yung twice," said Yap while giving Spin.ph a tour of the garage sale.

The pride of Escalante, Negros Occidental also spent a lot of time mingling with buyers and signing autographs on pieces of memorabilia like jerseys, personalized shirts, and shoes.
One diehard fan was lucky enough to score the gray Zara polo and black vest Yap wore when he accepted his second MVP award during the PBA awards ceremonies back in 2010.
Both were sold for P1,500 to a rabid fan named Mr. Bing, who bought the most number of Yap memorabilia. (See Yap’s INSTAGRAM account. “He’s the man”)
Also sold to fans were branded clothes like Paul Smith, Zara, Ben Sherman, Viktor, Diesel, Buffalo, and 7 for all mankind, as well as casual and game shoes like Nike, Prada, Tods, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton among others.
Asked why he decided to clean out his closet over a year after the annulment of his marriage to actress and TV personality Kris Aquino, Yap said: "“Ano lang, maliit lang yung place ko kaya kailangan kong alisin yung mga stuff na hindi ko naman na ginagamit."
Proceeds from the sale will now go to a charitable institution where Yap plans to spend his 31st birthday on Friday (February 15).
