NORTHPORT re-signed to new contracts three key players vital to its campaign in PBA Season 46.
The Batang Pier gave one-year deal each to Paolo Taha, Jervy Cruz, and Nico Elorde on Tuesday although terms of the contracts were not made.
The three players were with NorthPort team manager Bonnie Tan and players’ representative Danny Espiritu during the formal contract signing at the Green Meadows gym.
Elorde serves as the Batang Pier’s starting point guard the past two seasons since trading away Stanley Pringle. During the Philippine Cup bubble in Clark, Pampanga, the grandson of the late boxing great Gabriel ‘Flash’ Elorde averaged 5.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 11 games.
Meanwhile, Cruz also suited up in all 11 outings for the Batang Pier and submitted averages of 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds as part of the team's bench mob along with the 30-year-old Taha, who normed 8.9 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Unfortunately, NorthPort have had little success in the Clark bubble as it failed to make the playoffs after a 1-10 (win-loss) record.
