NORTHPORT hopes a big win over San Miguel Beer in their PBA Governors Cup clash Wednesday night won’t come with an equally significant price.
The team is keeping its fingers crossed that all’s well with explosive guard Robert Bolick after the rookie hurt his knee in the fourth quarter of the Batang Pier's 127-119 win over the Beermen at the Astrodome on Wednesday night.
Bolick hurt his knee while driving to the basket with 8:06 left in the game and the Batang Pier holding to a 102-95 lead. He was never fielded back but stayed on to finish the game and see NorthPort book its third win in four outings.
Bolick, who finished with nine points, three rebounds, and six assists, begged off from interviews, although team insiders confirmed he went straight to St. Luke's Hospital in BGC to undergo an MRI on his banged-up knee.
NorthPort coach Pido Jarencio could only hope that no serious injury was suffered by his prized rookie.
“Ang concern ko ngayon si Robert Bolick,” he said. “Sana wala namang grabe na nangyari.”
