THE sale of the NorthPort franchise to Pureblends Corporation will finally be completed in the coming days.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the formal sale could be completed before Monday, as the league is only waiting for a few more papers before final approval.
Financial papers are among the requirements that are still needed to be submitted to the league to complete the deal, according to Marcial.

“Bago mag-Monday. Halos done deal na. ‘Yung mga papeles na lang,” said Marcial to reporters on Thursday during the PBA Media Day.
“By Monday, alam ko, tapos na ‘yun. Papers na lang pinag-uusapan,” he added.
Bon voyage, Batang Pier
Pureblends Corporation is set to take over the Batang Pier franchise that began its stint in the PBA during the 2012-13 season.
For this season’s Media Day where 12 teams are present for photo shoots and interviews, however, players were still wearing the NorthPort orange and white.
“Mamaya NorthPort. Pero sa opening, baka iba na ‘yun,” said Marcial.
Pureblends has tasked former Terrafirma head coach Johnedel Cardel to handle the squad, while keeping the Batang Pier core that includes Joshua Munzon, Calvin Abueva, and Cade Flores, among others.
Pureblends has also signed rookies Chris Koon and Mario Barasi, as well as Von Pessumal after being left unsigned by Barangay Ginebra. The squad has also picked up Jeo Ambohot in a trade with Converge as part of the deal that sent Larry Muyang from Phoenix to the FiberXers, with Evan Nelle also moving from NorthPort to the Fuel Masters.
