RAFI Reavis has spoken out against social media posts that had him saying bad things about new Magnolia coach LA Tenorio.

Several posts gaining traction on social media had Reavis supposedly saying, “I’d rather retire than have LA as my coach. Baka siya pa turuan ko,” shortly after Tenorio’s appointment as Magnolia head coach.

Reavis, 48, saw his 16-year stint with the Hotshots come to an end after he was released by the team shortly after Tenorio's appointment.

The 48-year-old Reavis made it clear that he definitely didn’t say those words, and added that he, in fact, has only respect for Tenorio.

“It’s not true. It’s fiction,” said Reavis. “That’s definitely not true because that is not in my character to say such a thing about a coach.”

Rafi Reavis says a couple of PBA teams have expressed interest, including Converge.

Reavis bared he only learned about the posts when someone asked him if there was any truth to the statements attributed to him.

“I don’t even know if it was an article or something. Someone just showed me like a headline and basically told me what it said. So I didn’t read it and they asked me if this is true. I said no, it’s definitely not true. And they said, ‘Yeah, we didn’t think it was true because it doesn’t sound like you.’ It’s like, definitely doesn’t sound like me.”

Reavis added he plans to reach out to Tenorio to clear the air.

“I don’t engage in things like that. And hopefully, LA knows that as well. But my plan was to let him hear from the horse’s mouth whenever I saw him again to let him know I did not say anything like that because I just don’t like stuff that’s circulating.”

“I know it’s something you can’t avoid. People will put things out like that. But people that know me, they know I don’t do things that I don’t work that way,” said Reavis.
