AZ Reid insisted he didn’t have any tinge of regret after seeing his sacrifice for San Miguel Beer go to waste.

The prolific import cut his vacation short and traveled from Florida to Manila on short notice just to play on Labor Day, only to see his team fall to Rain or Shine, 124-99, in Game Four of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series on Sunday.

“I wasn’t supposed to be here, but I came to help my team,” Reid said. “(There’s) not one regret.”

Reid reiterated he wasn’t in top shape coming in. He scored 25 points but took 31 shots to get to his total, making just 12 for a paltry 38.7 percent from the field.

“I tried,” the former Best Import awardee said. “My minds said yes, but my body said no.”

“Of course I’m disappointed,” he added. “I had the shots I wanted and the shots I normally make, but I ain’t got no legs. I’m not blaming (anybody). It is what it is.”

Reid, who did haul down 17 rebounds and dished out five assists in 38 minutes, admitted his performance hastened the Beermen’s downfall.

“I hurt them more than I helped them,” he said, promising to bounce back in the Governors’ Cup.

“It’s just more motivation for me for next conference, come back sharper and be in better shape,” he said.

“Congratulations to Rain or Shine,” the former ROS import added. “They played well, they shot the ball, and they played well the pick and roll.”
