IT seems there’s no end to Blackwater’s misfortunes in the PBA Governors Cup.

More than a month after the death of big man Gilbert Bulawan, starting center JP Erram went down and hurt his knee in what is initially suspected to be a case of MCL tear.

Erram, who battled a serious knee injury during his time at Ateneo, sustained the injury in the second quarter of the Elite’s game against TNT Katropa Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Incidentally, Erram is considered the top center option in the 24-man Gilas pool to the Fiba Asia Challenge Cup.

He said hearing something pop on the knee the moment he went down.

"Narinig ko may nag-pop," said Erram as he was about to be wheeled out by the ambulance on his way to the St. Lukes Medical Center.

"Hopefully not ACL," said team manager Johnson Martinez. "But he will still be tested and undergo an MRI."

Erram was playing well for the Elite before injuring his knee, having scored nine points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field and snared three rebounds in 14 minutes of play.

The 27-year-old big man out of Ateneo is actually having the best season of his young pro career.

He is averaging 10.1 points (52.8 percent shooting), 6.7 rebounds, and 1.8 block shots in 24 minutes of average play prior to the season-ending conference.

Erram was also named earlier part of the 24-man pool of Gilas 5.0 team bound for the FIBA Asia Challenge Cup set in Tehran, Iran.
