RAJKO Toroman is close to inking a deal with Barako Bull, but has yet to sign a contract with the franchise.
“No I didn’t sign (contract) yet, but we are very close to making an agreement.... and that’s soon,” Toroman bared to Spin.ph.
Still, the Serbian mentor already attended Barako Bull’s practice early Monday morning as part of his personal assessment of the team before finalizing a deal with the Energy Cola.
Barako Bull interim coach Bong Ramos validated Toroman’s claim, saying the former Iranian national team mentor only observed the Energy Colas' pre-conditioning, which included a 60-minute running drills around the Philsports oval in Pasig, followed quickly by a 90-minute skills training at Gatorade Hoops Center.
“Nag-observe lang siya. Tinignan yung training namin. Bukod dun wala na,” said Ramos.
Toroman is expected to join again the Energy Colas’ practice Tuesday morning, this time to examine the team’s hardcourt drills.
“Ako pa rin ang magha-handle,” said Ramos. “Wala pang order ang management (of transfer of power).”
For his part, team manager Raffy Casyao aso denied rumors that a deal has been reached with Toroman.
“Wala, may mga inaayos pa kaming papeles, and Rajko himself is still is weighing his next move,” said Casyao.
