MANNY Pacquiao has insisted he can juggle boxing and basketball in the wake of reports that promoter Bob Arum wants the Filipino superstar to focus on the sport that made him a global icon.
The world's only eight-division boxing champion is slated to defend his American Chris Algieri in November, but a month before that, he will also make his debut as basketball coach when he handles Kia Motors starting in the PBA 40th season.
Pacquiao, however, said he is capable of focusing on both endeavors, apart from being Sarangani's representative in Congress.
“Wala naman (conflict),” he said on Tuesday in a short chance interview with a couple of sports scribes after the Rexona Training Camp event. “Kaya ko naman mag-concentrate sa boxing at basketball.”
Trainer Freddie Roach said that he wants his ward to hold Pacquiao's training camp for the Algieri fight in General Santos City so he can have his full attention.
Pacquiao said Roach will arrive in the country in the second or third week next month, but has stayed mum on where the camp will be held.
