ROBERT Bolick is poised to join NLEX pending approval of a trade submitted by the team and NorthPort to the PBA.

As announced by the team, NLEX is slated to acquire Bolick and Kent Salado from NorthPort in exchange for Don Trollano, Ben Adamos, Kris Rosales, and a PBA Season 49 second-round draft pick.

The trade is currently awaiting approval from the PBA trade committee after being submitted to the league's office on Sunday.

ALAS' ABSENCE PROMPTS TRADE

The decision to pursue the trade was influenced by the absence of Kevin Alas, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury. NLEX team governor Roland Dulatre acknowledged the urgent need to address the void left by Alas's scoring and leadership.

"In light of Kevin Alas's unfortunate injury, we recognize the pressing need to fill the void left by his scoring and leadership. Robert Bolick is a remarkable player, and we believe his skills and experience will significantly contribute to the NLEX Road Warriors," Dulatre stated in a release.

"We are excited about the prospect of having him on our roster and look forward to the positive impact he can make for the team."

BOLICK SETS RETURN TO THE PBA

The trade, once approved, will pave the way for Bolick’s return to the PBA after a very brief stint with the Fukushima Firebonds in the Japan B.League Division 2.

The impending deal also ends Bolick’s stint with NorthPort, the team that drafted him No. 3 overall in the 2018 draft.

Even after the former San Beda cager left NorthPort for Japan, the Batang Pier maintained the rights, enabling the team to ship Bolick to the Road Warriors.

Dulatre thanked the contributions of Trollano, Adamos, and Rosales to the team.
