ANOTHER key player of two-time MPBL champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns is set to make his PBA debut in the Commissioner’s Cup.
NLEX signed big man rookie Brandon Ramirez to a two-year deal on Wednesday after a highly-successful campaign with the Giant Lanterns who won a second straight MPBL national championship earlier this month.
The hulking 6-foot-5 center will be the third Pampanga player to make a jump to the 49-year-old league following a successful title stint after two-time MVP and top rookie pick Justine Baltazar and guard Kurt Reyson.
Baltazar made his debut for Converge last week along with Reyson for Meralco.
A second round pick at no. 18 in the last draft by NLEX, Ramirez agreed to a two-year contract.
The native of Lubao, Pampanga was welcomed by top NLEX officials led by team governor Ronald Dulatre, Glen Campos, Rico Rullan, and team manager Virgil Villavicencio.
