NLEX must win over Meralco in order to keep alive its quarterfinal hopes. The Road Warriors hold the 10th position with a 4-7 win-loss record heading into the match against the Bolts.
A morale-boosting 120-117 overtime win over Barangay Ginebra last Friday kept the Road Warriors in the hunt for a quarterfinal berth.
Meralco also has a lot to play for as it needs a win to strengthen its bid for a place in the quarterfinal round. The Bolts are at ninth with a 4-6 slate.
The Bolts could be playing shorthanded in the match with Raymond Almazan suffering a severe sprain in their previous game against Magnolia where they lost, 108-96.
Barangay Ginebra and Converge face off at 5:45 p.m.
The Gin Kings and the FiberXers share third spot with a 9-3 win-loss record entering the contest.
Ginebra still has a chance at a twice-to-beat advantage but the Gins must win over the FiberXers and hope that Magnolia loses to Rain or Shine in the final playdate of the eliminations on Friday.
Ginebra pulled off a 122-105 win over NorthPort last Sunday to bounce back from that defeat against NLEX.
Converge has not played since its 112-97 defeat against NorthPort on Nov. 20 that ended its seven-game winning streak.
