NLEX team manager Virgil Villavicencio confirmed the signing of the Washington DC native to SPIN.ph on Monday during the 3rd PSA Golf Cup at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club.
“Hopefully, he’ll be here by Nov. 10,” said the coach turned NLEX team executive.
Davis played for more than a decade in the NBA and suited up for teams such as Memphis, LA Lakers, Portland, Brooklyn, Utah, Minnesota, and Cleveland.
The mid-season conference featuring imports without height restrictions is set for a Nov. 27 tip-off.
In a statement, coach Jong Uichico welcomes the NBA veteran helping the Road Warriors in their campaign for the mid-season tournament.
“We’re thrilled to have Ed on board. He brings a wealth of experience and leadership that we believe will help us. We’re optimistic that he’ll be able to matchup against the league’s top big men and make a huge difference in our campaign this conference,” said Uichico.
Davis is coming off a stint with Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico.
He previously played with Mets de Guaynabo also in Puerto Rico and then suited up in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
