NLEX defeated Phoenix Pulse, 114-77, on Wednesday in Pasig City in the Road Warriors’ first tune-up game with Kiefer Ravena playing for his mother ballclub.
Ravena had 14 points in his first tune-up game with the Road Warriors since his 18-month Fiba suspension ended on Saturday.
Olu Ashaolu topscored for the Road Warriors with 23 points, while Bong Galanza and Larry Fonacier had 12 points each.
Aside from Ravena, NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao was also present in the tune-up game despite his busy schedule with Gilas Pilipinas. Guiao and Ravena went straight to the Meralco Gym after the match for the final practice of the national team in Manila before heading to China.
Philip Paniamogan and Raul Soyud also had 11 points apiece for NLEX.
According to tweets by both teams’ official social media account @ArangkadaNLEX and @fuelmasters, the Road Warriors led, 20-14, but pulled away and took a commanding 85-55 lead in the third period.
