MAHINDRA Enforcers star forward KG Canaleta is back on the trading block.

Barely four months after Canaleta was traded by the NLEX Road Warriors to Mahindra, sources told Spin.ph the athletic, well-travelled forward might find himself introducing himself to new teammates again soon.

Mahindra, the source said, has offered the sweet-shooting five-time PBA slam dunk champion to Meralco, among other teams, in a bid to shed his huge paycheck.

However, the coaching staff of Meralco reportedly did not bite as the team is already settled on its lineup for the coming Commissioner’s Cup, which kicks off on Wednesday.

Another reason, the source added, is the Bolts are not keen to give up the two players Mahindra wanted, namely Rey Guevarra and Ryan Buenafe.

“Medyo interesado ang Meralco, saka galing naman sa kanila si KG eh, kaso hindi gusto ng coaching staff pakawalan yung dalawang players na hinihingi nila,” said the source.

A source from the Mahindra camp, meanwhile, is surprised the Bolts turned down the deal considering Guevarra and Buenafe are both seldomly used.

“Yun nga di ko ma-gets. Kasi pareho namang hindi nagagamit yung dalawa. Siguro naiisip nila marami pa silang shooters sa team,” he said.

If Mahindra succeeds in trading away Canaleta, this will be his seventh straight year of being shipped to a team and the third in a year.

Since joining the PBA as the sixth overall pick of the 2005 draft, Canaleta has played for Air21 (2005-2009), B-Meg (2009-2011), Shopinas.com (2011), Barangay Ginebra (2011-2012), Air21 (2012-2013), Talk 'N text (2013-2014), NLEX (2014-2015) and Mahindra (2015).
