BARANGAY Ginebra cagers LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson gave the Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit a high mark following a trial run on Monday at the Titan Love Court.
Tenorio and Thompson were among the PBA players along with Gabe Norwood and Gilas Pilipinas cager Kiefer Ravena who joined the event where members of the media got the opportunity to wear the new Nike shoe before its formal release on August 3.
The 33-year-old Tenorio said he was surprised with how the shoe performed for him as a point guard even though the new Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 is mainly endorsed by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
"Very particular ako sa comfortability pagdating sa change of direction, change of speed. 'Yun ang laro ng guards. Surprisingly, alam naman natin ang nagpo-promote nito si Draymond Green so akala ko talaga, pang-big or pang-forward," he said.
"Surprisingly, puwede rin pang-guards. Mag-eenjoy lahat ng kukuha nito," added Tenorio.
Thompson, who also led his team to the title in a mini-tournament held during the trial run, agreed with his Ginebra teammate.
"Wala akong masabi. Talagang sobrang honored na makapaglaro ako sa event na 'yun. Napaka-komportable. I think eto 'yung pinakabest na Hyperdunk na lumabas," said Thompson.
Soy Soriano of EKIN, a Nike product expert, said the shoe's technology addressed the feedbacks of consumers over the previous Hyperdunk sets.
"It's actually the first time that we were able to address the features na hinahanap ng consumer, which is being lightweight, responsive and durable," said Soriano.
So far, Soriano said most of the response of the Hyperdunk users are positive especially with the React foam.
"Consumers are telling us that because of the foam, they are more confident to go all out. The pain is reduced or sometimes, there is none at all. It's lightweight and they really feel fresh. That's the consumers talking," said Soriano.
The Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit will be available in select Nike stores and Titan stores at P8,995.
