THE PBA deferred action against Phoenix deputy coach Nic Belasco and Rain or Shine import Shawn Taggart at least until Tuesday after the two men got in a heated scuffle last Wednesday.
PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa talked to Taggart at the league office on Monday aftermoon to get his side on the endgame commotion that marred the Commissioner's Cup game between the two teams last week.
Belasco had already explained his side to Narvasa at his office inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum shortly after the incident.
"We'll announce it tomorrow (Tuesday)," said media bureau chief Willie Marcial. "Whether there will be suspension or just plain fines, we still don't know."
As of posting time, operations chief Rickie B. Santos was still reviewing the game tape for some other clarifications.
Belasco was seen on tape confronting Taggart, who appeared to be explaining something to the Fil-Am coach as both teams were walking out of the Big Dome floor after Rain or Shine completed a come-from-behind 96-94 win.
The Phoenix deputy then suddenly shoved Taggart in the face, prompting the import to lose his cool.
Gabe Norwood pulled Belasco away from Taggart as cooler heads prevented the incident from escalating into a full-blown scuffle.
Narvasa and Marcial caught up with Belasco before exciting the court, and immediately told him to meet him at his office.
Belasco quickly apologized for the incident shortly after.
