FOR Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao, it’s like hearing the ground attendant announce that your flight is delayed.

The defiant Elasto Painters coach believes his team will still reach the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals after San Miguel Beer hacked out a 104-98 win in Game Three to extend their semifinal series.

“We just postponed our trip to the finals,” Guiao said after emerging from the dugout. “My feeling is we’ll get there only in a longer while, but we're still feel positive of our chances. Parang may twice-to-beat advantage pa rin kami.”

The E-Painters failed to sweep the Beermen, who thrived with their backs against the wall, not to mention playing without an import.

“I guess that’s natural consequence of playing with nothing lose,” Guiao said. “I guess they just took advantage of playing loosely and they just made shots — and we did not, especially against the zone.”

“It’s also too ambitious for us to sweep San Miguel,” he added. “Medyo naging possibility siya 'nung una, pero alam naman natin na mahirap gawin talaga yun.”

“But now, we will be more ready the next time we play them,” he continued. “Sometimes may tendency talaga na mag-relax ka kung alam mo na kulang yung kalaban mo.”

Guiao is hoping they close out the Beermen, who are set to field in AZ Reid Sunday, the soonest.

“It becomes more difficult the more you postpone it, so pahirap ng pahirap yan hanggang sa hindi mo na mai-co-close yan pag hindi mo matapas agad,” Guiao said.
