TNT mulls import change, brings in Joshua Smith as possible replacement for Donte Greene
Joshua Smith plays for the Houston Rockets in the 2015 preseason.

JUST when you thought TNT KaTropa has already settled on an import in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup comes this piece of news.

The Texters are pondering on replacing Donte Greene, who has shown flashes of brilliance and even gained a look as a Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player prospect, yet has left TNT wanting more after seven games for the squad due to his lack of consistency.

TNT is now looking at Joshua Smith, a burly big man listed at 6’10” who played college ball at UCLA before transferring to Georgetown.

A TNT insider said Smith has actually been practicing with the Texters alongside Greene since Saturday, a day before he turned 24.

The Texters are 5-2 (win-loss) with Greene, who registered 29 points in their last game, a 107-97 loss to Star last Wednesday, but scored just four points in the second half when the Hotshots broke away.

If the NBA veteran gets the pink slip, Smith would be the Texters’ third import who could make his debut in their game against Alaska on Saturday in Legazpi City.
