TERRENCE Romeo will continue to sit out for about a week before returning to action for Globalport in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The flamboyant comb guard admitted he’s not yet fully recovered from the calf muscle injury he suffered during the Batang Pier’s 115-103 loss to Blackwater last week.

“Namamaga pa siya tsaka masakit,” said Romeo of the Grade 1 strain in his right lateral soleus muscle.

“Hindi pa ako makakalaro next game. Siguro after pa nito.”

That means he’ won't be around when the skidding Batang Pier play the Star Hotshots on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Romeo’s return could come two weeks from now against NLEX.

“Kailangan kasi talaga sa ganitong injury daw ipahinga, e,” said the third-year guard out of Far Eastern University who showed up in civilian clothes and did not join Gilas Pilipinas in its weekly Monday night practice at the Moro Lorenzo gym.

Romeo, who is turning 23 on Wednesday, said it’s the first time he suffered such an injury, which, from the onset appears to be a minor one, but actually takes a long time to heal.

“First time kong magkaroon ng ganung injury. Dati puro tapilok lang, sprain. Pero ito ang hirap pala,” he said.

The former UAAP MVP already missed Globalport’s game against Alaska last Saturday, which the team lost, 103-101, to fall to a 2-7 record.
