TEMPERS flared in the bench of GlobalPort as Terrence Romero and coach Pido Jarencio was seen exchanging words in the Batang Pier huddle near the end of the third period.

The altercation came in the three minute mark of the third period just when Magnolia took a 54-53 lead courtesy of a Mark Barroca three pointer. It was the Hotshots' first taste of the lead since the early goings of the first quarter.

Team manager Bonnie Tan had to go in between the two with Romeo seen fired up in what looked like a shouting match with his coach.

TV reports explained that there was a 'miscommunication' between player and coach in terms of substitution.

The report stated that the Jarencio and Romeo have agreed to settle their issues after the match.

It was a frustrating night for the Batang Pier which once led by 20 points in the first half.

Prior to that altercation, Romeo has been relatively quiet with just eight points on 4-10 shooting.

The two seem to have at least put aside their issues for the meantime as Romeo was sent back in at the 10:34 mark of the fourth period.

It wasn't the first time the Batang Pier have had drama in the bench with Stanley Pringle being involved in almost the same altercation last season with then head coach Franz Pumaren.
