TERRENCE Romeo remains a solid Batang Pier.

The most explosive guard the PBA has seen in recent years has agreed to stay with a Globalport team of which he has become the face along with prolific backcourt partner Stanley Pringle.

Only some minor details of the new contract is being ironed out, but its certain Romeo will be donning anew the neon light green jersey of the franchise for the next three years.

"In principle ok na si Terrence and GlobalPort," confirmed team manager Bonnie Tan on Saturday to SPIN.ph.

"We'll have to finalize na lang small details of his three-year contract."

Although terms of the deal were not divulged, the former Far Eastern University King Tamaraw is expected to get a maximum contract from the franchise he helped steer to its first ever semifinal appearance during the last Philippine Cup.

Acquired by the team in the 2013 Draft (5th overall), Romeo’s stint with the Batang Pier saw the franchise made strides.

In the final year of Romeo’s contract, the team made the semifinals for the very first time by beating Barangay Ginebra in a sudden-death game.

This season also proved to be the best in Globalport history as it posed a 17-23 (win-loss) record, surpassing the team’s previous mark of 16-22 established last year.
