TERRENCE Romeo might miss GlobalPort's next game due to an intestinal flu that has sidelined the high-scoring guard for the past two days.

A source told SPIN.ph that Romeo missed the team’s practices on Monday and Tuesday and is questionable for the Batang Pier on Wednesday when they face the Mahindra Enforcers.

“Hindi nakapag-ensayo, he was in practice last Monday but his eyes were bulging. He didn’t sleep and he was throwing up all the time,” said a GlobalPort source.

Medical websites say that intestinal flu is a form of gastroenteritis, where a viral or bacterial infection of the stomach is present, and could manifest through severe diarrhea and fever.

Romeo reportedly ate bulalo and other local dishes with some friends last Sunday at a carinderia somewhere in Commonwealth, and this may have been the cause of the illness.

The Batang Pier star is now being monitored by doctors at the Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF), which is owned by the family of his agent Nino Reyes.

With Romeo possibly sidelined, GlobalPort now looks to Stanley Pringle and Dominique Sutton to lead the charge against Mahindra in their bid to bounce back from a sorry 81-93 loss to Barangay Ginebra in their Governors’ Cup opener last Saturday.
