TERRENCE Romeo is not going anywhere anytime soon.

The GlobalPort superstar finally shot down the trade reports involving him, reaffirming his commitment to the Batang Pier after a recent talk with team owner Mikee Romero.

“Actually, kausap ko si boss Mikee. Hindi talaga totoo yun,” Romeo said after the PBA Press Corps Awards night on Thursday.

However, Romeo, who’s in the middle of a three-year, P15.12 million max contract with GlobalPort, would like to see the Batang Pier finally contend for a championship.

Already with three scoring champions under his belt, the 25-year-old cager is eager to get the team award next after being to the Final Four just once, in the 2015 Philippine Cup where they lost to Alaska, 4-1.

For now, Romeo has to wait as he’s sidelined for two months due to a knee injury. But he’d love to already be surrounded with enough pieces for them to be tagged as true contenders.

“Sila boss Mikee, hindi naman sila tumitigil sa kakabuo ng team na lalaban at yung talagang kayang makipag-compete sa semis and sa finals,” Romeo said.
