Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva hit with P25,000 fines for separate infractions
Calvin Abueva and Terrence Romeo are both poorer by P25,000 after the latest round of fines announced by the PBA Commissioner's Office.

TERRENCE Romeo of GlobalPort and Alaska star Calvin Abueva were each fined P25,000 by the PBA Commissioner's Office for separate infractions, officials said on Friday.

Romeo got the punishment after taking a swing at LA Tenorio late in GlobalPort's 85-96 loss top seed Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

Abueva, on the other hand, was caught on camera flashing a dirty finger to express his dismay over some calls in a 106-107 loss to GlobalPort that knocked the Aces out of the playoffs.

Romeo was slapped a flagrant foul penalty 2 for hitting Tenorio in the rib area during a heated battle for position - an infraction that officials said normally merits a minimum of P20,000.

However, the Gilas Pilipinas guard's penalty was aggravated by 'inappropriate gestures' during the commotion.

On the other hand, Abueva was once again penalized for foisting a 'stickum sign' in the direction of the PBA technical officials and for slamming a chair near the technical officials' table during Sunday's loss.

Ironically, the 'Beast' declined to make a comment after the loss, telling SPIN.ph, "baka pag nagsalita ako, mapa-fine lang ako."
