GLOBALPORT star Stanley Pringle hurt his ankle on Friday and failed to finish the Batang Pier’s game against San Miguel on Friday, but the team was quick to ease of a major injury for the sophomore guard.

Pringle went down with a sprained right ankle early in the fourth quarter while trying to elude a San Miguel defender, wincing on the floor then tip-toeing back to the bench in obvious pain.

Pringle retreated to the dugout minutes layer and hobbled to a waiting ambulance that took him to a hospital for examination.

A Globalport staff, however, said the initial prognosis indicated the injury was not as bad as it looked.

“Wala naman daw broken,” said the team staffer.

Pringle finished with 19 points but his absence spelled the difference as the Batang Pier lost, 109-120, to drop to a 2-2 (win-loss) record.
