Spin.ph to honor Sportsman of the Year, Top 10 Sports Heroes and Heroines of 2014

FOR the second year in a row, Spin.ph will name its Sportsman of the Year to honor the Filipino who stood out in the field of sports in the year about to past.

The country's first standalone sports website gathered its team of editors, reporters and columnists to pick this year's awardee from among a host of sports personalities who made the biggest impact in 2014.

Aside from the top awardee, Spin.ph editors and reporters will come out for the first time with their Top 10 list of the biggest heroes and heroines of the year.

The Top 10 list will be revealed through a special microsite in the first week of January while the Sportsman of the Year will be announced through another special report by the editors.

Former Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes was named Spin.ph's first Sportsman of the Year in 2013 after leading the national team to a runner-up finish behind Iran in the Fiba Asia championships in Manila.

Unlike other major award-giving bodies in sports, Spin.ph's choices are not limited to athletes but also consider coaches, teams, and top sports patrons who made the biggest impact during the course of the sporting year.
