THE San Miguel camp expressed concern over the statement of TNT coach Nash Racela over the “special treatment” allegedly given the Beermen by the referees in their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series.

Racela aired his thoughts after the Texters lost to the Beermen, 97-86, in Game Four on Valentine’s night.

SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua held a short press conference inside the Big Dome press room at the half of Game Five of the SMB-TNT semifinal matchup on Thursday night to air their side.

“We at San Miguel express our concern about the statement of Racela about the ‘special treatment,’” Chua said.

“When we lost two game in a row, he didn’t hear from us,” he added. “Special treatment for what? Dahil we won? We’ve been here the longest time and pag natalo kami, we don’t say anything.”

Chua said Racela's statement taints the name of the league's most successful team.

“It’s not good para sa amin,” Chua said. "Our coach didn’t say anything. Sana mag-coach na lang siya."
