SCOTTIE Thompson continued to flaunt his all-around game on Sunday when he finished with just one assist and two rebounds shy of a triple-double in Ginebra’s 90-80 win over NLEX in the PBA Philippine Cup.

The sophomore playmaker tallied 11 points, nine assists, and eight boards along with two steals in 32 minutes as he conspired with LA Tenorio in turning the game around after a flat start.

In terms of his assists, Thompson said he was simply trying to locate the red-hot Tenorio as much as possible.

“Minsan, hindi sila naghe-help sa amin, so dine-dire-direcho,” he added.

So that explains why Thompson, despite deferring to Tenorio, still managed to score 10 of his 11 points in the second half.

The 2016 All-Rookie team member was also trying to heed coach Tim Cone’s call for him to be more aggressive on offense.

Thompson, though, admitted opponents have been more physical on him, boxing out to prevent him to crash the boards from nowhere.

“Ramdam ko yung bugbog,” the former NCAA MVP out of Perpetual Help said.

So can he also respond to Cone’s challenge for him to replicate the gaudy numbers of triple-double machine Russell Westbrook?

“Mahirap yun, pero wala namang imposible,” Thompson beamed. “Pag trabahuhan lang tsaka sana healthy lang lagi.”
