TNT Katropa rookie Roger Pogoy earns PBA Player of the Week citation

WHILE focus was on Jayson Castro’s dagger triple, Roger Pogoy who had a consistent game that earned him the PBA Players of the Week citation.

The rookie wingman showed the poise of a veteran, firing 17 points including a huge three-point shot with under two minutes left to help TNT beat a rallying Barangay Ginebra side in the opener of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series.

His heads-up play earned him the nod of the PBA Press Corps as Player of the Week for the period of June 6 to 11.

The 6-foot-2 former Far Eastern University player, who will turn 25 on Friday, was picked by the scribes over TNT teammate Ranidel de Ocampo and Star forwards Allein Maliksi and Aldrech Ramos for the weekly citation.

TNT is gunning for a 2-0 lead when the best-of-five semifinal series against Ginebra resumes on Tuesday at the MOA Arena.
