BARAKO Bull suffered yet another casualty after a win in the Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup.

After Chico Lanete went out with gruesome eye injury in their win against Ginebra last month, the Energy saw RR Garcia hurt his shoulder late in overtime of the team’s 105-98 victory over Talk ‘N Text on Thursday also at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The third-year guard sustained the injury when he tried to tap the ball away from Jayson Castro when the TNT superstar was attempting a jumper in the extra session.

“Pag hampas ko ng ganun, siguro nag-lock tapos umangat yung balikat ko,” explained Garcia, whose move led to a foul and a Castro free throw that proved to be the Texters’ only point in overtime.

The 25-year-old playmaker went out and never returned, but was glad the Energy went on to win.

“Sobrang saya kasi matagal na namin hindi natalo ang Talk ‘N Text,” said the point guard out of Far Eastern University.

Still, the pain lingers for Garcia, who finished with 22 points in 26 minutes.

“Sobrang sakit,” he said. “Hindi ko magalaw eh. Kahit nga magsuot ng damit, hindi ko magawa.”

Garcia said he will have his shoulder checked out, hoping to rule out a dislocation.

Energy coach Coy Banal hopes for his point guard’s speedy recovery.

“He’s a vital part of our campaign and I just hope and pray that he will be ready next game,” he said ahead of Barako’s next game on Friday against Blackwater.
