Rodney Brondial defends 'playoff hit' on Ross: 'Ano ine-expect na foul, malambutan?'
Rodney Brondial on his hit on Chris Ross: "Sa akin naman, part of the game yun, kasi unang-una, championship game yun eh. Kumbaga, ano ba ine-expect natin na foul, malambutan?” Jerome Ascano

RODNEY Brondial said he will accept any penalty for his hit on San Miguel guard Chris Ross, but insisted it was just a hard, playoff pick in Game Two of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals last Sunday.

Looking like he was about to set a pick for Paul Lee late in the game that the Beermen won, 92-77, the Magnolia reserve hit Ross on the back that left the SMB point guard down in pain.

Commissioner Willie Marcial is expected to penalize Brondial for his action, but delayed the sentencing to give way to the Hotshots big man’s wedding on Tuesday.

Napalakas lang talaga,” the 6-foot-5 slotman continued.

Brondial believes he has nothing to apologize for to Ross.

“Wala naman (gusto sabihin),” Brondial said.

“So wala yun, nothing personal.”

But no fine can stop the 27-year-old Adamson product from celebrating after he married Caryl Adriatico on Tuesday.

“Syempre masaya,” Brondial said. “Tapos busy lang rin talaga sa mga practices, pero all in all, masaya naman.”

“Honeymoon, delayed muna,” he added.
