Robbie Herndon adds to Magnolia's injury woes as rookie in doubt for opener
Robbie Herndon might miss Magnolia's opener vs Alaska as the rookie is dealing with back spasms.

ADD Robbie Herndon to the list of injured players of Magnolia Hotshots.

The 24-year-old rookie, acquired by the Hotshots in a draft day trade after GlobalPort took him sixth overall in the 2017 PBA draft, will likely miss Magnolia's opening game against Alaska on Wednesday due to back spasms, according to coach Chito Victolero.

"Si Robbie nagka-injury yan nung last Friday. I don't know kung makakalaro sya this coming opening," Victolero told after the team's practice on Monday.

There's no timetable yet for his return but from the looks it, the Fil-Am wingman might not be out for long as he was seen participating in some drills in Monday's training.

Aside from Herndon, Magnolia parades a depleted roster with Paul Lee, Jio Jalalon, and Rafi Reavis recovering from different injuries. Marc Pingris is also recuperating after the removal of his kidney stones a few days ago.

With a shorthanded lineup, Victolero is expecting a tough match against an Aces side that features Calvin Abueva as well as fit-again Vic Manuel and rookie Jeron Teng.

"Mahirap yung larong ito para samin. Alaska is always prepared kaya di mo pwedeng balewalain pag kalaban mo sila," he said.
