Raymond Almazan still favors sprained ankle, but fit enough to play for RoS in Game 3
Raymond Almazan left Game Two with a sprained ankle but his agent assures he will be fit enough to play for Rain or Shine on Saturday.

BIG man Raymond Almazan may not be 100 percent fit, but he is ready to play in Game Three of the Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series on Saturday.

The 6-foot-7 lanky center suffered a mild sprain near the end of Game Two on Thursday night won by the Elasto Painters, 105-97, that evened the best-of-seven series at 1-1.

He finished with 10 points and six rebounds and limped his way back to the Rain or Shine bench when coach Yeng Guiao called it a night for him.

No one among Rain or Shine personnel returned a message by Spin.ph about Almazan’s condition hours before the 5 p.m. game time.

His representative Danny Espiritu though, assured Almazan is capable of playing.

“It’s just a mild sprain, nakakalakad naman siya,” said the veteran players’ agent, who added Almazan suffered the sprain when he stepped on the foot of a San Miguel player.

For such a minor injury, Espiritu said the one-day break would be enough to rest the injured ankle.

“Ipapahinga lang naman yan. Babalutan din maigi before the game para hindi mare-injure,” he said.

Still, Espiritu said it’s still the call of Rain or Shine coaching staff whether to play Almazan or not.

“Depende na sa coaching staff 'yan. Puwedeng i-manage na lang nila yung playing minutes para hindi ma-aggravate yung injury,” he said.
