Ranidel de Ocampo sees limited time but makes solid impact in winning debut with Meralco

RANIDEL de Ocampo took little time to adjust to his new team as he made an immediate impact in his debut for Meralco on Friday night in the 106-78 win over Alaska in the PBA Governors' Cup.

Acquired from TNT KaTropa in a three-team trade a few days ago, the veteran stretch forward  had no pressure to deliver, but still registered 10 points on two triples, two boards, and one assist in less than 17 minutes of play.

And his contribution -- statistical and psychological -- certainly factored in the blowout victory.

De Ocampo could've made an even more contribution had Mike Tolomia and the rest of the Bolts didn't deliver significant numbers.

"He didn't get very much playing time mainly because the locals really stepped up and played well, but we're expecting that Ranidel will be a big addition to our team and he'll bring a lot of talent and experience that will help us down the stretch," Bolts coach Norman Black said.
