AT least, Rain or Shine will still have 'half rice' on its plate.

Beau Belga officially re-signed with the Elasto Painters on Monday, ending week of speculations amid rumors that another marquee player of the team is on the way out following the trade of Paul Lee.

The burly big man came to terms a new three-year maximum deal with the franchise where he became the other half of the dreaded 'Extra Rice Inc' duo which he formed with JR Quinahan, who has since been traded to Globalport for Jay Washington.

"Eto, dito pa rin tayo," Belga said to SPIN.ph while wrapping up the contract signing done in the presence of RoS board of governor and team manager Atry. Mamerto Mondragon and the player's agent, Danny Espiritu.

Only a few days ago, the Elasto Painters pulled off two stunning deals that saw Quinahan and top gunner Lee traded to different teams less than 24 hours apart.

"Maganda pa rin naman yung lineup namin kahit may mga nawalang players," said the wide-bodied big man on a rejigged RoS that now includes two-time MVP James Yap.

The team also appeared on the verge of losing Belga especially after negotiations between both parties came to a standoff.

Although a max player with the Elasto Painters previously, the former Philippine Christian University stalwart had sought a provision in his contract which was not really in violation of his UPC (Uniform Players Contract) with the team.

Asked if Rainr or Shine finally agreed to it, Belga just let out a loud laugh.

"Sakto lang brod," he said.

Belga showed up earlier in Rain or Shine's first practice under coach Caloy Garcia at the Nega gym in Greenhills, but left the venue quickly and quickly proceeded for the resumption of his contract talks with team management.

He'll formally join the Elasto Painters training on Tuesday.

Although happy to stay put with Rain or Shine, he said it will be a weird feeling when he faces his former teammates in the coming new season of the league, especially coach Yeng Guiao, who's now with NLEX.

"Hindi ko nga alam kung ano magiging reaksyon ko pag kaharap na sila, lalo na si coach Yeng," he said.
