RAIN or Shine looks to regain the solo lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup when it battles Globalport on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Elastopainters and the Batang Pier collide at 4:30 p.m.

Rain or Shine at 4-1 shares the lead with TNT and Alaska.

The Elastopainters got back to their winning ways, beating reigning champion San Miguel, 123-119, last week in Antipolo City.

The Batang Pier, meanwhile, improved their record to 3-2 following a 116-94 win over NLEX on Wednesday.

Globalport coach Pido Jarencio hopes to have another consistent defensive effort following their game against the Road Warriors.

“Sana maging consistent kami na ganun. Sabi ko nga sa inyo, we will just keep on improving tapos ’yung mga little mistakes, mag-aadjust kami,” said Jarencio.

Barangay Ginebra takes on Phoenix at 6:45 p.m.

Ginebra beat winless Blackwater, 105-91, over a week ago to finally make it to the win column.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone stressed the need to win against the Fuel Masters as they are still at the bottom half of the team standings with a 1-2 record.

“We need this game to keep pace with the leaders,” said Cone.

Cone is wary of the Fuel Masters, who have been giving them problems over the previous conferences.

“Phoenix has played us very well over the last year, beating us three out of four times so we are very wary of them. They play us with a lot of pressure to counteract our size and that can create problems,” said Cone.

“Hopefully, we put things in to counter what they’ve done in the past which makes us more ready,” said Cone.

Phoenix holds a 2-2 record and is coming off a 120-115 loss to NLEX.
