SO who says Barangay Ginebra has a monopoly of PBA Christmas Day games?

This year, Rain or Shine and Alaska headline the league’s special treat on December 25 as Game Four of their Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinals series will be played at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The lone Christmas Day game is set at 4:15 p.m.

This marks the second time in three seasons the ever popular Kings won’t be seeing action on Christmas Day, usually that time of the year when they play before a huge crowd celebrating the holiday season.

Rain or Shine also topbilled the league’s Christmas Day game in 2012 when it played Game Three of its semifinal series against Purefoods.

Ginebra saw action December 25 of last year when it faced sister team San Miguel in the main game of a Christmas Day doubleheader which saw GlobalPort and Air21 clash in the curtain raiser.

Ginebra actually isn’t booked yet to play in the days leading to Christmas as it still has a hurdle to overcome in Talk `N Text for the last remaining berth in the semis. The Kings and Tropang Texters tangle on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the right to face top seed San Miguel Beer in the Final Four.

The winner of the Ginebra-Talk 'N Text knockout match plays San Miguel the day after Christmas for Game Four of their own best-of-seven series.

The Rain or Shine-Alaska tiff starts on Thursday (7 p.m.) at the MOA, while the other semis pairing begins on Friday.

The semifinals series will be played alternately on a daily basis.
