TWO more first-round picks will likely not be playing for the teams that selected them in the recent PBA rookie draft.

No. 8 pick overall Sidney Onwubere and No. 11 Jonjon Gabriel are set to swap places following a trade put together by Phoenix and TnT Katropa.

Onwubere, the rebounding demon out of Emilio Aguinaldo College, was tabbed by while Gabriel, from Colegio de San Lorenzo, was the second of two first-round picks chosen successively by TNT.

Ironically, both teams acquired those draft rights as part of the three-team trade that brought Ranidel de Ocampo to Meralco.

The Katropa also added back-up big man Justine Chua to the package in exchange for the Fuel Masters’ 2019 second round pick.

The trade papers have yet to reach the PBA office as of posting time. But the last time checked, Chua and Gabriel were already attending the practice of the Fuel Masters at the Upper Deck Sports Center.

TnT won’t start its training camp for the coming season until Monday.

This developed as the Fuel Masters also dealt young big man Michael Miranda to NLEX for the Road Warriors' second-round pick in the 2018 draft.

The trades are expected to be approved, even with the league leadership in a state of uncertainty due to the board squabble over Commissioner Chito Narvasa's continued tenure.

Two trades have already been approved by Narvasa since the draft.

Meanwhile, trying out for slots at Phoenix are veteran Mark Isip, former University of the Philippines stalwart Mike Gamboa, and Kyle Drexler Neypes, a fourth round pick of Blackwater in the last rookie draft.
