PHOENIX found out it still has plenty to work on as it fell short against Hong Kong Eastern, 92-88, in their tune-up game on Friday at Upper Deck gym in Pasig.

The Fuel Masters kept the game close against the new Asean Basketball League (ABL) team that feautured Thai-American standout Tyler Lamb and two slotman imports, but eventually folded down the stretch.

Willy Wilson stood as the last line of defense in the team's small-ball experiment, finishing with 13 points and four boards to lead the Fuel Masters, who remained winless in two exhibition matches.

JC Intal added 10 markers, the last two on a floater that tied the game at 88, before the visitors scored four unanswered points to seal the deal.

"Magandang learning (experience), pero syempre dapat mapanalo rin namin yung ibang tune-up," Phoenix coach Ariel Vanguardia said.

The Fuel Masters' next tune-up game is on Friday against Meralco.
