TNT KaTropa new boy Terrence Romeo played it coy when asked why he wore Nike Kyrie 3s in his debut for the Texters in a 128-114 win over GlobalPort in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday night.

Romeo, who happens to be a Peak endorser, tallied 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting, three assists, two boards, one steal, and one block, against five turnovers in 27 minutes as a starter.

Asked why he was wearing the third version of Kyrie Irving’s signature shoe and not the kicks he was supposed to be endorsing, the flamboyant guard feigned innocence.

“Kyrie ba yun? Wala ngang tatak, ‘di ba?” Romeo said with a smile.

The three-time league scoring champion, who endorses his own TR7 ver. 1.0 for Peak, wore a white Nike pair where the logo was taped up.

It was the second time Romeo wore taped-up Nike shoes, lacing up his favorite red Kobe 9s last September while his first signature Peak shoes was still under construction.

On what's the reason behind this latest switch, he isn't saying.
