For leading Star from cellar to midtable, Paul Lee picked Player of the Week by PBA scribes

WITH Paul Lee leading the way, Star has moved to the middle of the pack after a dismal start.

The Hotshots are now in joint fifth after dropping their first two assignments, and huge performances in wins over NLEX and Phoenix earned Lee the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week.

Lee knocked down four triples and finished with 20 points and seven assists as Star clobbered NLEX for its first win of the season.

Three days later, Lee fired 18 points and issued four assists to lead Star to a 44-point demolition of Phoenix.

Lee, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 PBA Draft, was picked by scribes covering the beat over Star teammates Jio Jalalon, Mark Barroca and Allen Maliksi, Meralco rookie Ed Daquioag and sophomore Chris Newsome, Alaska star Calvin Abueva, San Miguel’s Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo, Rain or Shine’s James Yap and Raymund Almazan, and GlobalPort’s Terrence Romeo.

Star looks to make it three straight wins when the Hotshots and Lee they take on his former team Rain or Shine on Sundayat the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
