PAUL Lee has been shooting baskets from 30 feet out during Star Hotshots’ practices. So it didn’t surprise him when he hit a clutch one on Wednesday night to help the team beat Alaska in overtime of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup game.

Lee did his best Steph Curry impersonation when he nailed a long three in the extra period of the Hotshots’ 102-98 victory over the skidding Aces at the Astrodome.

The combo guard finished with 18 points, including 13 in the fourth and overtime periods as he joined hands with hot-shooting Justin Melton and import Ricardo Ratliffe in rallying the team from as much as 21-point deficit late in the third quarter.

“Kumpiyansa naman ako dun sa tira ko kasi pina-practice ko naman yun,” he said of his huge three with the shot clock winding down that gave Star a 97-93 lead.

“Ginagawa ko sa practice yun kasi may darating na time din na yung shot clock is winding down and kailangang mong itira ng ganun.”

Lee said the come-from-behind victory is definitely an ideal way to for the Hotshots to end their campaign in the elims.

“Siyempre mataas yung morale namin lalo na yung ganitong klase ng panalo,” he admitted. “Sabi nga ni coach Chito (Victolero) kailangan nga namin yung ganitong mga games going to the playoffs kasi na-test yung character namin."
