IMPORT Paul Harris is so honored to play for Barangay Ginebra that he opted to fly to Manila earlier and join the team for the PBA Governors Cup.

Never mind that he's in the middle of preparations for his marriage in the US by next month.

"I want to get start practicing and get more in shape," said Harris on Friday shortly after the Kings' 85-69 win over Mahindra in a tune-up game at the jampacked Arellano gym.

"It's different being at home working by yourself than being around with the team and being around with some of the guys."

Harris, who won a championship with Talk N Text in 2011 when the Texters beat Ginebra in the Commissioner's Cup finals, arrived in the country last week.

Folllowing a two-week stint with the Kings trying to settle in and learning the intricacies of coach Tim Cone's triangle offense, Harris is set to leave for the US to attend his wedding to Jianna set on July 2.

"We've been married but we're having a wedding for our family," disclosed the Ginebra import. "I haven't seen my family for a long time. I just came back from a 10-month season in Turkey so to have them for something like this is going to be special."

Harris said he'll have a double celebration with his family as they will also spend the Fourth of July holiday together before returning to Manila on July 6.

By which time he'll be bringing with him hia wife and two boys.

"Wherever I go, they always come along," said Harris of his family.
