MARC Pingris won't just be missing the rest of th PBA Philippine Cup campaign but the entire season as well.

Magnolia on Monday dealt with the bad news that its veteran forward suffered an ACL injury, just hours before Game Two of its PBA Philippine Cup semifinal playoff against NLEX.

Team governor Rene Pardo confirmed the result of Pingris' MRI test after getting a briefing from orthopedic surgeon Dr. George Canlas.

Pingris, 35, suffered the injury in the final five minutes of Game One last Saturday which the Hotshots lost, 88-87.

"Yes its ACL. He's scheduled to undergo surgery this week," said Pardo.

At the most, the Magnolia official said Pingris could be out from six to eight months.

Pingris is now resting at home, according to his manager Ed Ponceja, although there is still swelling on his injured.

"Namamaga pa kasi yung tuhod niya kaya hindi pa maoperahan," he said. "But i-schedule yung operation within the week, so if ever, maaga rin siya makabalik."
