CHRIS Tiu never wavered in his belief that Rain or Shine will win the championship, all because he has a lucky charm.

As he celebrated his first PBA title with Rain or Shine on Wednesday night, the 30-year-old former Gilas Pilipinas team captain said he is looking forward to another momentous occasion - the first of his first child.

“I think she’s our lucky charm and I thank the Lord for a wonderful month of May and it’s just one of those moments in life that I will cherish forever,” he told SPIN.ph shortly after the title-clinching win in Game Six.

As his teammates celebrated on center court with their babies in tow, Tiu was happily looking forward to carrying his own child the next time they win another title.

“Yeah, I hope next time may bitbit na rin akong baby. Actually on the way na, anytime na due ‘yung wife ko eh sana hindi pa nga nanganganak or baka nanganak na nga ngayon. Hindi ko mahanap eh,” Tiu said laughing as looked around the Big Dome while balloons fell from the rafters.

“But you know this is a great blessing. The baby [who's] coming is even a greater blessing and I’m so looking forward to that, super excited for that,” he added.
