No excuses for Jayson Castro as TNT star admits Ginebra simply dominant in semis series opener

JAYSON Castro offered no excuses after TNT KaTropa succumbed to Barangay Ginebra, 94-121, in Game One of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals on Monday.

For Castro, the Gin Kings simply dominated KaTropa on all fronts from start to finish during the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"Siguro maganda lang talaga gameplan nila," said the soft-spoken playmaker, who finished with 16 points.

"Hindi kami nakapag-adjust agad dun sa zone defense nila, and then na-outhustle din kami."

TNT struggled to recover from a 60-48 halftime lead, with only Glen Rice Jr. and Castro leading the attack for the team.

But Castro is upbeat the rest of the team will make up for the lack of effort in Monday's tussle when both teams meet anew in Game Two on Wednesday in Batangas City.

"Siguro sa defense namin (kailangan mag-focus) kasi inallow namin sila na and then lahat ng bigs nila nakuhanan kami so siguro kaiangan namin i-takeaway yung mga ganun," he said.

"At the same time yung offense namin kailangan din namin ayusin."
