PHOENIX assistant coach Nic Belasco and Rain or Shine import Shawn Taggart paid the price after being involved in an endgame commotion shortly after their respective teams' PBA Commissioner's Cup game last week.

The two were meted a total of P70,000 in fines by the Commissioner's Office on Tuesday, with Belasco receiving the bigger brunt for instigating the fight.

The Phoenix deputy coach was fined P40,000 broken down as follows — P30,000 for fighting and P10,000 for instigating it.

Taggart of Rain or Shine meanwhile, was penalized P30,000 for fighting.

The two, however, escaped suspension.

Video of the game showed the incident taking place seconds after the Elasto Painters scored a come-from-behind 96-94 win as Belasco shoved Taggart hard on the face as both teams were about to go their respective dugouts.

The RoS import retaliated by swinging at the Phoenix deputy coach before cooler heads intervened.

The two were reportedly already trash talking during the game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Commissioner Chito Narvasa and media bureau chief Willie Marcial were quick to catch up with Belasco, and reminded him to keep his cool.

Narvasa later met Belasco at the Commissioner's Office inside the Big Dome.
