RR Garcia was up to the task as he filled the shoes left by Jason Castro in his first game with TnT Katropa.

The four-year point guard had 12 points, three assists, and two rebounds in the team's 112-103 win over San Miguel in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It was Garcia's first outing for the Texters since the trade that brought him to TnT from San Miguel for Matt Ganuelas-Rosser.

The former Far Eastern University stalwart had to play an active role with the Texters since Castro and another guard, rookie Roger Pogoy, are out on national team duty.

"Oo medyo mabigat yung role na ibinigay sa akin dito dahil wala nga si Jayson, Pogoy, at tsaka si Troy (del Rosario)," said Garcia, who played 23 minutes off the bench.

"Pero hindi lang naman ako ang magpapanalo diyan. Siyempre team kami," he added.

However, the transition was made easy since TnT mentor Nash Racela was once his college coach, and certainly knows how to utilize him.

"Sinsabihan niya lang ako na diskarte lang tulad nung ginagawa ko nung college pa ako," he stressed. "Siyempre, may pressure din pero kilala na rin naman ako ni coach Nash."

Garcia also expressed he has nothing against his former team, with which he won hia first league championship during the last Philippine Cuo.

He also has nothing to prove opposite the Beermen.

"Actually, nagulat nga ako dahil first game ko ito (for TnT). Hindi ko nga expected na ganito ang ibibigay sa akin," he said.

"Kumpiyansa lang siguro (si coach Nash)."
