MO Tautuaa insists he’s yet completely healed from a rib injury, but looked fully recovered after going for a slam dunk that punctuated TNT Katropa’s 109-88 win over GlobalPort in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday night.

After missing two games from hurting his ribs following a collision with assistant coach Alton Lister in practice, Tautuaa dropped jaws in his second game back from injury when he caught a pass from Kris Rosales, then launched a thunderous slam that gave the Texters their second-largest lead at 22 with over two minutes to go.

“It’s okay, but a little tentative, I don’t think I’m a hundred (percent),” Tautuaa said. “Still getting hit in practice, but the ribs are getting better, I’m getting better.”

“But I don’t do much because I have a chipped rib, so I’m playing with what I can,” the sophomore big man added. “Just work as hard as i can to make sure I’m healthy.”

Tautuaa, who tallied seven points, seven rebounds, and two assists without committing a single turnover in 14 minutes, is hoping to move closer to getting back to top shape as the Texters take the court again on Sunday against Ginebra.

“Every game, I’m ready, we have tomorrow to prepare,” Tautuaa said. “Continue pressing forward, staying confident, and staying with the team.”
